What is wedging?

Wedging is when you knead the clay in such a way that it mixes it, and you get the air bubbles out. When you first buy clay there are no air bubbles (usually) but in order to even out the moisture in the piece of clay we mix it and that's called wedging.

Spiral wedging, cut and slap together, 


2 50lb 24"x24"x3" slabs are included and replacements are available.

Each side of the table requires 50 lbs of plaster (25 lbs plaster and 17 lbs water for a (USE of 68)  We want the plaster (#1 Pottery) to breath. 


 For each 10 pounds of plaster you want to mix add seven pounds of water take a small amount of the nylon fiber (optional) and disperse it in the water. Then add the plaster to the water allow it to slake for 3 minute then mix vigorously with a drill mixer preferably. Mix as much plaster as you can in a 5 gallon bucket (25 lbs. ) and pour into the form. working quickly mix up all the plaster and keep layering it in until the wedging table is full.
