Monday Special Topics Class -Mishima

Join Patty on Monday May 14th for a one day special topics class on Mishima. Originating in Mishima Japan, this technique is used for inlaying slip or under glaze into fine line designs. Perfect for narrative work or intricate designs. Bring leather hard work and any imagery you want to use to practice this fun technique. Flat work such as plates or tiles are ideal. Come with snacks for a mini breakfast potluck and a laid-back demo and class, or just come and enjoy the demo. 

Some clay experience is preferred. Basic to intermediate level. 


Patty Bilbro has been a ceramic artist for over 20 years. She has a craft degree from Haywood Craft School in Clyde, NC. She has taught throwing and special topics courses at Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts in Asheville, NC, Baltimore Clayworks in Baltimore MD and The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, PA. She has been a full time studio potter as well as a Resident Artist at Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts and Baltimore Clayworks. She is currently living and working in Albuquerque New Mexico.
