Silver PMC Sterling Clay 50 Grams

Silver PMC Sterling Clay 50 Grams

Work, roll, cut, shape and fire versatile PMC® like any ordinary clay. After firing, designs made with PMC Sterling™ clay come out of your oven as a sterling silver object. Create jewelry, beads, components--anything you can do with clay, you can do with PMC! PMC Sterling™ clay has more than twice the strength of original fine silver PMC, ideal for more delicate designs and for pieces that just have to have the added strength. Because of the copper content in this formula, firing is a two-step process; step one is an open-shelf firing and step two requires a firing pan with activated carbon media.

PMC Sterling™ combines microscopic particles of metals in the

precise proportions of 92.5% silver with 7.5% copper—the
proportions as traditional sterling. The metal powders are mixed
with water and a nontoxic binder to create a material that can be
worked as easily as modeling clay. Objects can be made with simple
tools, then they are dried and sometimes refined further. The pieces
are then taken through a two-step firing process that drives off the
water, burns away the binder, and fuses the particles into solid metal.
The result has properties very similar to cast sterling silver. It can be
polished, soldered, and patented just like any other precious metal.
