Slip-Casting Mold Making Workshop

Mold Making and Slip Casting Intensive with Qwist Joseph.

As an introduction to mold-making, this intensive will cover basic techniques of making a mold for slip casting and press molding. Students will learn how to make original forms for molding and experiment by creating two molds: a one part and a two-three part mold from those forms. Due to time constraints, we will be limited to a 3 part mold and an

8 inch size limit in the largest direction. In addition to making, students will also learn the properties of plaster and casting slip.

Students will use:

  • 25lbs #1 pottery plaster per student
  • 25lbs of clay per student, WLO
  • Dust mask
  • Greensoap

All of this will be supplied by New Mexico Clay

Cost $185.00 for two days.
